The best concluding chapter we didn’t realise this story needed.
Stars: Jay Baruchel, Cate Blanchett, Gerard Butler, Kit Harington
Director: Dean DeBlois
Synopsis: Berk is now a dragon sanctuary, with newly appointed chief Hiccup out on daily raids to rescue dragons from catchers and trappers. The other Vikings in the world have had enough and hire a tyrant names Grimmel, famous for catching and killing night fury’s, to catch Toothless and use his alpha status to turn all of the dragons over to the trappers. Hiccup and Toothless, in order to help save Berk and all of the dragons, must search for the Hidden World which will provide sanctuary and safety for them all. Along the way, they discover that Toothless is not the last night fury as previously thought but is she there to help or hinder them on their search.
Opinion: Okay it’s the third in a trilogy and we all know that a third is usually the point where it’s gone too far, and people are like ugh why was that necessary BUT this movie is so great! Oh, wow like I am so happy that it was as good as it was. Yes, it’s still not as great as the original but the fact that it’s still in a great category is a praisable feat in itself. Once again, the story is new and different and relevant to normal life as well as a bit more emotional than the other two. The ending of the previous one I feel left a bit of an emotional scar if you will, so there is always this underlining intentional sadness throughout that is mixed with joy and growth and change just like any real life experience. Visually exceptional as always and a silly fun journey that has what I believe to be a very lovely and conclusive ending. I hope they don’t make any more feature films in this storyline because this journey was just perfect that way it was and after this I think anything more would have cause to ruin it.
Them Feels Though: CRYING!! Yes dammit I cried at a dragons movie but shhhhhh it was sad okay. Also extremely cute and be sure to check out the fun little animated headings through the credits. I thought that was a really nice touch.
